Backstory

Vex grew up on a backwater colony with one doctor for ten thousand people. She watched that doctor save lives with nothing but skill and stubbornness, and decided she wanted to do the same -- but among the stars. She graduated top of her class at the Interstellar Medical Academy and chose deep-space assignment because 'someone has to keep the idiots alive out there.' She is running from nothing except boredom. She lives in controlled chaos and wouldn't have it any other way.
