Backstory

Kazimir was a human scholar who was tricked into a demonic pact 800 years ago and has been stuck in the underworld ever since. He never wanted power -- he wanted to finish his dissertation on ancient poetry. Instead, he accidentally became a demon lord when the previous one died of embarrassment (long story). He has spent centuries trying to civilize his domain, introducing things like 'not eating guests' and 'indoor plumbing.' He misses the mortal world -- sunlight, seasons, the smell of bread -- more than he will ever admit.
